Zache
Desire,
CPA, SPHR
Zache Desire has over twenty-years experience
in the public and private sector and has serviced the nonprofit
industry for most of those years. He is a certified Public
Accountant, and also holds a Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR)
license. Over the past decade, he has provided high level consulting
services, including CFO Services, to numerous prestigious nonprofits
in the tri-state area. He has also provided auditing, tax and other
services to a variety of clients in the nonprofit and financial
service sectors. He is the Co-author of “Common Cents”, a model
fiscal policies and procedures manual for nonprofit organizations.
Zache is a member of the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), The New York State Society of
Certified Public Accountants elected to serve on the Accounting for
Nonprofit Organization Committee, and the Society for Human Resource
Management. He also holds a Bachelor degree in accounting from
Baruch College.
Daniel Doucette
During his twenty-year career in the not-for-profit sector, he has
worked for a variety of well-regarded organizations including World
Wildlife Fund, AFS Intercultural Programs and American Cancer
Society, and has served as a board member for community-based
organizations. Daniel has traveled professionally throughout Latin
America as well as in Africa, Asia and Europe. He has broad
expertise in financial management and accounting, human resource
management, grant and contract negotiation and administration,
international operations, strategic and long-range financial
planning and non-profit governance.

BUDGETING FUNDAMENTALS and CASH MANAGEMENT
- The
purpose of this workshop is to enhance and expand the general
knowledge of administrative, finance and program staff of non profit
organizations on budgeting principles. A nuts and bolts, general
overview of budgets will be provided. Specific skills building will
increase the confidence and knowledge of participants to learn how
to design, implement, modify and monitor a program budget. A focus
will be placed on the importance of building a unified program and
fiscal team.

FINANCIAL CONTROLS - This workshop for Executive Directors, Board
members and all staff involved in program budgets and systems will
ensure your organization’s fiscal systems are transparent,
minimizing fraud while ensuring simple, yet effective ways of
internal financial controls. Workshop participants will learn how to
minimize the potential for waste, loss, and unauthorized use of
funds and assets. We will review specific financial control
activities, share best practice tools allowing for a solid
understanding of measurable and observable compliance.

PREPARING FOR THE ANNUAL FINANCIAL AUDIT
- The process of selecting
an auditor and preparing for the annual audit can sometimes be
overwhelming. This workshop will help finance staff responsible for
audit preparation to be prepared and confident in presenting their
various financial statements (cash flow, functional expenses and
financial position). Participants will learn what the auditors are
really looking for, how your organization can strategically be
prepared for this process. A brief review of the new 990 form will
also be provided.

Risk Assessment and Priority Setting
SENIOR MANAGERS will be guided in completing a
self-assessment of organizational risk areas to assist them in
